I am trying to locate my GG-Grandfather's Ranch in NW corner of Choteau County. He owned during very late 1890's and died in 1900 on a train from Shelby to Great Falls. It was supposedly located along the Marias River and his mailing location was Lucille. All of his business affairs were transacted in Fort Benton.

- Josiah E. and Malissa Harshbarger
Josiah E. Harshbarger received homestead land in Chouteau in 1919 on Sep 30, Range 90E of Twp 260N. Josiah Eda and wife Malissa (Proffitt) Harshbarger are listed in the 1920 census of Chouteau County as well as their children: Ray or Roy, born May 1898 in Montana, and Georgia, born in 1901 in Montana.
Does anyone in Chouteau Co. recognize this name or know where the parents are buried? More information about the children will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

- I am searching for information concerning Arthur E. Lewis and Margaret (Maggie) Casey, who were married in the Catholic Church in Chinook sometime around the turn of the century. I understand that Chinook was part of Chouteau Cty at that time. Arthur was a Chinook native; Maggie came from St Paul, MN. She was born 1879 and died in the Chinook area in 1947. Her brother Hugh (b. 1878) also lived in the area in the 1920's.
Anyone having information to share on these folks would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

- Seeking information on great aunt and uncle, Lester N. Kellogg and Estella Thrailkill, who were married in Chouteau County, 17 February 1913. Am particularly interested in information on the Thrailkill family.
Homestead Certificate document No. 011091 shows initial application made in 1910 by Lester N. Kellogg, then single, age 24. Final certificate, granted in 1913, shows Lester N. Kellogg as married, age 28.
Lester N. Kellogg was born 16 June 1885 in Iowa (prob. Sioux County) and died as a result of an automobile accident 13 August 1926 in Harve, Hill County, Montana. Certificate of death indicates that family was living in Caldwell, Idaho at the time of his death. Other information shows wife and one surviving daughter, Gayetta Maurine Kellogg (no further information on daughter).
No DOB or DOD information on Estella Thrailkill Kellogg. Would like to be able to fill in the blanks as well as obtain information on her family. Would also like to determine if she remarried after death of Lester N. Kellogg. and, if so, to whom, and if any more offspring were produced.
Any information gratefull appreciated. Will share information with related family lines. Respond to XKELLOGGX@aol.com. Thanks for any and all assistance.
More recently... (Jan 28, 2000) Seeking information on the parents and family on my maternal great aunt, Estella Thrailkill Kellogg, b. Abt. October 1888, Ft. Benton, M. 17 February 1913 at Ft. Benton to Lester N. Kellogg, d. date and location unknown.
Certificate of marriage lists parents of Estella A. Thrailkill as C. W. Thrailkill and Anna Whitney.
Lester N. and Estella Thrailkill Kellogg homesteaded in Chouteau County in 1913. They were living in Caldwell, Canyon County, Idaho at the time of Lester's death, 13 August 1926, in Harve, Hill County, Montana, as the result of a hit and run auto accident.
One known daughter from marrieage, Gayetta Maurine Kellogg, born between 1914 and 1926, location unknown.
Would also like to learn the following: (1) date and place of Estella's death, (2) whether she remarried after the death of her husband, Lester N. Kellogg, (3) to whom she remarried and (4) if she had a second family.
Any information gratefully appreciated. Will exchange information with related lines. Please respond to XKELLOGGX@aol.com. G. T. Kellogg, Jr.

- KEASTER posted by Dawn DiSomma on Monday, January 31, 2000
- I have been told that my great great grandfather's mother is buried in the Geraldine Cemetary outside of Geraldine Montana. I know that last name but I do not know the first name. Keaster. If there is anyone who can give me the information on the headstone for Mrs. Keaster (ner son moved to Montana in 1866 so the date of death would be later than that - probably 1885? or later still). Other than her last name I do not know anything about her. It would be helpful to know where she was born but that's not going to be on her tombstone.
Any information would be helpful at all. Thank you.
