HOW TO OBTAIN COPIES OF BIRTH

To obtain copies of BIRTH or DEATH records from Anaconda-Deer Lodge County, MT, you will need to contact the Clerk and Recorder's office. The telephone number for this office is (406) 563-4060.

BIRTH:

Non-certified copies (genealogy) are $1.00

Certified copies are $5.00, but can only be given to the person, a parent, an adult child or a spouse. A signed written request is required with the following information:
    - Name at Birth
    - Date of Birth
    - Mother's Maiden Name
    - Father's Name
    - Requestor's relationship to that person
    - Photocopy of some sort of identification

DEATH:

Death records (non-certified copies for genealogy) are $1.00. It is preferred that you give at least a range of 10 years so they know where to start looking. If they do a detailed search, the charge is an additional $5.00.

To obtain copies of a MARRIAGE LICENSE or DIVORCE DECREE from Anaconda-Deer Lodge County, MT, you will need to contact the Clerk of the Court's office. The telephone number for this office is (406) 563-4040.

MARRIAGE LICENSE: Must be over 30 years ago. The charge is $5.00 for non-certified, and $7.00 for certified.

DIVORCE DECREE: The charge is $2.00 for each year researched, and $1.00 per page for an unofficial copy. They will not perform an over-the-phone searches unless you have an exact date/year.
