ROLL OF LINCOLN COUNTY MEN WHO SERVED IN THE U.S. ARMY OR NAVY

Compiled by "THE WESTERN NEWS" of Libby,

with the Co-operation of

"The Eureka Journal" and the "Libby Times"

Published in January 1920 by

WESTERN MONTANA PUBLISHING COMPANY

THIS SERVICE ROLL

CONTAINS 353 NAMES

There are 353 names on this roll of men who served in the army and navy of the United States during the World War. The Libby list contains 155 names. The Troy list 60 names, The Tobacco Plains list 127 names and the Warland list 11 names. The publishers know that many more men than these entered the service from Lincoln County, but we have no record of others. With reference to the addresses of the men whose names are given, in many cases they lived in some other community than that from which they enlisted or were drafted, and in following the record it is possible some addresses are given erroneously, but the correct address was given whenever it could be ascertained.

NEWCOMERS----FORMER SERVICE MEN

The Roll of Service Men given on the preceding pages was designed to include only men who lived in Lincoln county at the time they entered the service. We don't feel that the suject can be left without saying a word with reference to the many alert and able young men who went into the service from other points, and upon their discharge, decided to come to Lincoln county to settle down and make their home. The number of these will grow with each succeeding year. Already their influence is being felt in the social and industrial life of the communities in which they reside. Nothing could give the people of a county greater pleasure than to extend a cordial welcome to these men, and to express a word of appreciation for the service they gave their country.
