"Chief Plenty Coups (ALeek-Chea-Ahoosh), meaning many accomplishments, b. 1848 near Billings, MT, and d. 1932."He was the last Principal Chief of the Crows. During the war of the Black Hills, hehelped supply scouts to General Crook and General Custer. Plenty Coups alsorepresented all Native Americans at the World War I monument of the unknown soldier. Toclose the ceremony, he placed his war bonnet and coup stick on the grave." Steve Shook

Joseph Dixon was a US Representative, USSenator, MT Governor, and US Interior Secretary. Mr. Dixon is the great grandfatherof submitter Steve Shook's wife.
