The first picture is of DeForest Oscar Phillips and Grace Taylor. They dated for a couple of years between 1915 and 1916. The writing on the margin of the picture was by Pearl May Phillips, DeForest's sister. Both Pearl and DeForest were the children of Frank G. Phillips and Adella Brooks, who had homesteaded in the Castner Falls area.
