Frank N. Shaw
Frank Shaw was the fourth child born to John William and Mary Elizabeth Shaw on March 5, 1890, in New Port, Pennsylvania. He had four sisters, Elsie, Maud, Ethel and Carrie, and one brother, George. Charles, John and Matilda Raddle were half siblings.
Frank attended the Miller's School in Perry County, Pennsylvania, until he moved to Illinois. He continued roving the western states for about three years, stopping awhile in North Dakota, where his brother, George lived. Frank settled in Great Falls in 1912.
In August of 1919, he received his homestead patent, this land was located near Black Butte, not too far from Ming Coulee.

Taking with him his one horse that he had broke to ride, snake logs, pull the cutter, and do about anything with, he erected several buildings, including a very nice log cabin on his home site.
Frank moved to Kalispell, married twice, his first marriage dissolved, he them married Lillian Coleman. Frank died around 1970 in Kalispell. Frank's wife died within the following year.
