Postcard-Taken at Polson, Montana
The Postcard is dated December 30, 1913,
and was sent to my grandfather, Antti Norville
(Antti Nurmela) in the Crowsnest Pass, Alberta. (My grandfather came to
Alberta from
Finland in 1903.) It is postmarked Polson.
Esther is interested in finding more information about the people in the
photo. She would also like to visit with anyone who has information about the
Nurmela/Norville family as she has been unable to locate any records in the US
concerning the two brothers.
I have now identified the brother who wrote the 1913 postcard to my grandfather, Antti Nurmela, from Polson to the Crowsnest Pass (in fact, I found this info. on the Lake County homepage). The brother was Matti Nurmela, my gf's younger brother, born 1883. He made some kind of a land transaction in 1914, and was registered for the WWI draft in 1918. He's also mentioned on page 241 of The Fabulous Flathead
