SILVER BOW - is
west of Butte located off what is now Interstate 15. The post office
was established in 1869 with R.C. Allen as postmaster. At that
time the area was still Deer Lodge County. The post office was
open on-and-off until 1907. On August 10, 1907 Frank Lindborg was
appointed postmaster and the post office has been open ever
since.
