A-B SURNAMES

Bright, Edmund

Edmund Bright of Melville, best known as "Teddy" Bright, died at the hospital in this city Sunday evening after a short illness with pneumonia.  The remains were prepared for shipment to his old home at Reading, Pa., being taken as far east as Chicago by W. H. Donald, a-life-long friend, where they were met by a brother.  Mr. Bright, was a splendid fellow, admired by everyone who knew him.  With his brothers and sisters he was interested in the Bright Hardware Co. stores in the east, established by his father, and from them had a safe income.  Several years ago he came west and stopped here to visit his friend W. H. Donald, with whom he had graduated from Princeton, under President Wilson, and he caught the western bug.  He only intended to stay a few days; but it was a year and a half before he again saw a railway train.  Since then he had made his home around Melville, having a handsome bungalow, which was burned last fall, above Melville.  Last fall he made a trip east, returning but a few weeks ago.  He had traveled extensively, having visited every country of any note, and his death will be universally mourned by a large circle of friends.
